D172 : DinkyUniversal Jeep 25Y
Just a little untidy with bent and rusty windscreen frame and axles, otherwise complete. The chassis plate was quite thin and rusty, and I drilled through it when removing it. The paint was removed using aircraft paint stripper and the surface prepared with a light rub with wire wool. The base, windscreen, hook and steering wheel cleaned and straightened. the body was primed and sprayed the other parts were given a coat of rust preventing black spray. The model was reassembled before new axles were cut and fitted. One note to add is that the hook was fitted using a screw and the hole was drilled through the base. This would normally be fitted with a short screw and the hole on the truck bed filled before repainting. Made by Dinky 1952 to 1966 and also renumbered 405.
